I’ve been there. But instead of getting back in touch, I decided that we have been living in 2 different worlds. Living just across the street for 2 years he never came over to ring my doorbell. After getting married and having kids, things started to change a lot when I got divorced and had to go back to square one. So, I told him I’d like to meet him and have a talk. I had been through some changes in the meantime and was looking for more in life. You know the whole self-development thing. He was a family man with other priorities and that’s ok. But we didn’t fit in each other’s world anymore. I told him how I felt. I felt stupid cause it felt like I was dumping a girlfriend. Lol he even gave me the whole, please don’t do this, we can work this out speech. It was so awkward. But my decision was made. He still lives in the same place. My mom lives close by and I bumped into him once. Very weird feeling. But I didn’t try to revive the friendship again. Just said hi, did some small talk, and left. His wife hates me anyway so whatever. The point is I know what you talk about. Good story 👍
