Well, I certainly do give them a big smile and always greet them when I board the plane. Isn't that just common sense in human interaction? The crew mostly consists of very good-looking ladies so how could not put on a big smile and greet them friendly.
There was a time when flying was soooooo carefree. The early 90s'. Smoking was allowed, and you could bring your water bottle. I remember when flying still had something prestigious about it. But not because of their water bottle of course.
Being at the airport felt so special. The airlines were all about service. And as a kid, you got sooooo much attention from the cabin crew. The planes looked huge to me and on our flights to the Dominican Republic we used to run around and play with the other kids on board. It was such a magical experience. Sometimes the plane wasn't even fully booked so that you could find an empty row and stretch out for a nap. Those were the days.
Now, it's all about who's the cheapest. Some airlines offer flights so cheap you gotta buy your food on board. And I'm not talking about a short national flight. The prestige is gone and now it feels like a commodity. What a pity.
